About the project
Previously, the Summary page worked well when Funding Circle only offered loans. However, with the introduction of new products — short-term loans, a credit card, and BNPL — it became less intuitive and no longer provided enough relevant information for users
Problems and goals
1
Redesign the page so users can understand the status of each product at a glance
2
Improve onboarding and highlight actions that need attention
3
Add educational and informative content about products and businesses
Summary page before redesign

In the old version of the Borrower Portal, the loan card took up a lot of space, which made it difficult to add new products with the same design — the page would become too long and less informative

After gathering all the necessary information (competitor analysis, references, insights from support on the most common requests, analytics, and user interviews), three potential strategies for the development of the Borrower Portal were defined

Research
After conducting qualitative and quantitative research as well as usability testing, we concluded that the third concept worked best, but identified areas that needed refinement
Steps

After grooming sessions with the development teams, we defined a plan to roll out all changes to production in three phases. The portal is currently in the penultimate phase, and we are expecting the final release at the beginning of summer 2026. I’ll be able to share metrics and results once they are officially published
